1.15 Plans

Hello everyone, since 1.15 seems to be right around the corner I thought I should share the plans for 1.15 on the Elder Realms. I'm going to be breaking this down by server, so check the sections below for per-server intentions. These might change, but as of now, this is where we're at.

Towny Kingdoms
The usual first question asked with an update is will there be a world reset? The answer to that is, no. There's no need to do that, as 1.15 really doesn't add a ton of new stuff. So, how will you be able to get the new items and interact with bees? Well, we'll be creating a different resource world that will reset every now and then.

As usual, we won't be updating immediately as that would cause a myriad of issues along the way, but we do plan to support 1.15 through ViaVersion as soon as possible. That goes for the whole network, in fact.

Wytherin
Kitty is still in the process of updating to 1.14, so 1.15 is on the backburner. I suppose it depends on how updating goes for the rest of the network.

Steampunk Skies
SS is also running 1.14, so in theory, the update to 1.15 shouldn't affect much. The update, in all honesty, will come down to how the plugins that are custom-built for SS handle the update, and I suspect that it will take a while to find that out. As with everything else, it will be running ViaVersion, so there's that.


I'm excited about the 1.15 update. Though there's not a lot of content additions this time around, they've fixed a lot of issues (303 so far according to the wiki). There's also been some nice quality of life improvements, as well as performance increases. Anyway, I hope this answers some questions you all might have about what the transition to 1.15 might look like. If any of you have other questions, comment here or ask in Discord.
