Well, this is awkward. It's been 3 months since the last time I said anything, and that was for 1.15 - not a great track record I know. Just an FYI, this post is mainly about TK.

Either way, it's update time again, and this time it's for an update I'm actually really excited for. 1.16 is going to be a big update for us and many other servers, especially with the release of new weapons and armor, as well as the new Nether. That said, 1.16 isn't going to impact much of the actual overworld at all. For 1.16, there will be no overworld reset. The nether will be the only thing that does reset, so there's that!

So, what do I have planned for 1.16? Well quite a bit, here's some details:

  • Integrating 1.16 blocks into everything
  • Dungeons for both the overworld and the nether
  • New donator perks based on some new EULA information
  • Rework of some Towny stuff
  • The remote...

1.15 Plans

Hello everyone, since 1.15 seems to be right around the corner I thought I should share the plans for 1.15 on the Elder Realms. I'm going to be breaking this down by server, so check the sections below for per-server intentions. These might change, but as of now, this is where we're at.

Towny Kingdoms
The usual first question asked with an update is will there be a world reset? The answer to that is, no. There's no need to do that, as 1.15 really doesn't add a ton of new stuff. So, how will you be able to get the new items and interact with bees? Well, we'll be creating a different resource world that will reset every now and then.

As usual, we won't be updating immediately as that would cause a myriad of issues along the way, but we do plan to support 1.15 through ViaVersion as soon as possible. That goes for the whole network, in fact.

Wytherin
Kitty is still in the process of updating to 1.14, so 1.15 is on the backburner. I suppose it depends on how...

TownyKingdoms Ranks, Wiki, and Dungeons

Hey everyone, it's been a minute since I've given an update on the progress of TK so I thought I'd do so. I've been pretty busy for a while now, and thus haven't been able to spend a ton of time working on the server as a whole. That said, I have been getting some things done, so I thought I'd talk a little about that.

Ranks
When TK relaunched, I decided that I wanted to bring back the old ranks system. I had the old permissions laying around, so I decided to re-implement them into current TK, which has honestly not gone too poorly so far. However, a lot of the donation ranks were either out of date (thanks a lot EULA) or we'd switched plugins, so I really stopped pushing the whole donation idea. As of today, however, I have more of a general outline set up for what the donation ranks are, and they are back to being purchasable through the donation store. Along with that, a new page on the wiki (more on that below)...

Halloween Event Now Open!

Happy Halloween! As is tradition on Towny Kingdoms, we throw an event for halloween every year.

To get there, simply go to spawn and go through the portal, or type /warp halloween to get teleported!

Find chests to earn Halloween Money which you can use at the merchant to buy gear! Fight the boss and get a unique drop! Or, just fight the mobs that naturally spawn. Trick or treat, ride the roller coaster, but most of all have fun!

TownyKingdoms Soft Launch Incoming!

Hello everyone! The time is finally here, Towny Kingdoms will be having a soft launch. I'm planning to have the server unwhitelisted and mostly playable by the 20th, just over a week away. However, some things will not be finished by then as is the nature of a soft launch. You can think of this as a Beta if it were any other game.

Right now, I need people to start testing stuff (there's a list down below) and making sure everything is mostly solid. Due to this, there may be resets that occur, so don't get attached to anything. After the soft launch, I'm hoping that by the 25th I'll have a good feel for the stability of the server, and after that, no resets are in question unless something absolutely catastrophic happens.

What I need help testing:

  • Permissions
It might not seem like much, but I don't always find issues playing as an admin, and I also...

[Update] Another Network Update

Hello all! Since the last update, I've been hard at work getting some network things in order. If you've been keeping up with the Trello board, you may have noticed some progress, and there's good reason for that. At the moment, a lot of tasks have been moved to complete in terms of the network, and I'd like to inform you of some changes.

First and foremost, Steampunk Skies is now added formally into the network. You can now connect to it using the play.elder-realms.com or play.townykingdoms.com IP address. Write is testing out features and needs players to play on it, so if you have time and are interested, please give it a look.

Second, TownyKingdoms has been updated to 1.14.4, however its whitelist is now on. The main world has been reset, and spawn is in place, as well as some dungeons. Hello all! It's almost been two months (whoops) since my last update, so I thought I should probably give another one. Work is continuing on getting the network back up and running as efficiently as possible. As of now, TK is mostly finished and Wytherin is coming along nicely. Since my last update, I decided I wanted to be more organized than I was (which wasn't very organized honestly), so I made another Trello board (big shock I know). As of now, there are two Trello boards, one for the overal network progress, and one for the progress of just TK. They're linked, respectively, on the new Development page, and I'll be adding more links there in the future for stuff we're working on.

In terms of network-wide stuff that needs to be done before release, that list consists of:

  • Building a new Hub
  • Making sure said hub is protected
  • Add Steampunk Skies to the...

Hello everyone, as you can tell from the difference in the website and the change in the Discord name, the TownyKingdoms Network is rebranding. This has been something I've been mulling over for a long time, and Kitty, Write and I all agree that this is the right move.

When I started TownyKingdoms back up after partnering with Write on The Golden Age of Piracy as well as The Bleeding Towny Server, it was just us. However, since getting to know Kitty and adding her network to the server, and as well as realizing what Write wants to do in starting his own skyblock server, it's bothered me that the name is still The TownyKingdoms Network. It doesn't really make sense, and it's honestly sort of confusing.

That's where this rebrand comes in. Ordinarily, a network is made up of other smaller servers with their own goals, and those servers go under one brand. The goal of this rebrand is to move in that direction, where TownyKingdoms, Wytherin and eventually Steampunk Skies are...
